The Ford Endeavour is a huge SUV with enormous road presence. The Endeavour is tall and the bonnet is at a height. The radiator grille is chrome-laden with horizontal stats that is connected to the headlamps which are now a bit angular as compared to the previous model. The fog lamp bezels have silver finish and the front bumper is new and that also gets an extra bit of chrome. The front of the car has more design elements that now makes the Endeavour look a little mellow.
The big wheel arches, large tyres, the side-steps and the roof rails give the SUV an aggressive stance. At the rear end, the spare wheel has been mounted on the fifth door adding to the street presence of the vehicle. Ford also provides an anti-theft hard top cover for the spare wheel, along with a ladder (optional) to mount the extra luggage on the top.
The interiors of the Ford Endeavour have been planned and designed considering space and luxury. All the variants of the car get leather upholstery. There is dual air-conditioning with controls mounted on the ceiling and AC vents for all the three rows. The seats have been positioned in such a way that even tall drivers feel comfortable. The rear seats are slightly raised and can also be reclined. However, the third row of seats is not as comfortable as the first two rows. An integrated DVD system with touch-enabled satellite navigation has been provided for the top-end variants. The safety features on the list are a passive anti-theft system (PATS), ABS with EBD, dual airbags, front passenger airbags, seat belts for all seven occupants, child-proof rear door locks, fuel-tank shields and reverse parking sensor with camera.
The base variant of the Ford Endeavour is a rear-wheel-drive powered by a 2.5-litre diesel engine that produces a power output of 141bhp and a torque of 330Nm. The other three variants are powered by the 3.0-litre diesel engine which churns out 154bhp of power. The 3.0-litre version is available with an option of 4×2 automatic and 4×4 automatic. The car gets ventilated disc brakes in the front and self-adjusting drum brakes at the rear wheels. The car’s handling is good enough for its huge size. The suspension set-up initially was a bit stiffer and made the ride a little hard. But now with a softer setting the ride has become much more comfortable.
